Final Grades: The laboratory grade will contribute 25% and the lecture grade 75%. 50% of the lecture grade will be the average of the quizzes (40%) and projects (10%), each exam will be 25% and therefore will make up 50% of the lecture grade. Each quiz will be taken individually and then again as a group. The individual score will contribute 80% of the quiz grade and the group grade the remaining 20% (i.e. quiz grade = (individual score x 0.8) + (group score x 0.2). The quizzes will cover material from both previous lectures/reading and the reading assigned for that day. The following scale will be used for the final grade.

Policies:
- No make-up quizzes or exams will be given, except in the case of a serious illness or a death in one's immediate family.
- Make-up finals are administered by the Dean's office.
- Academic dishonesty will result in failure of the course and a report to the chairperson of the Biology department.
