An account of the three earliest resident carvers of the city of Kingston, Massachusetts: Bildad Washburn (1762-1832), his assistant Bartlett Adams (1776-1828), who moved to Portland, ME in about 1800, and Hiram Tribble (1809-1881), who was the nephew of the Plymouth carver John Tribble. This includes as much of their personal histories as can be gathered from primary sources, and a photographic catalog of their stylistic repertoires.
