Faruk Guder is professor of Operations Management in the School of Business Administration. He served as the Associate Dean for Academic Program Administration for the School of Business Administration from 2001 to 2002 and the chairperson of the Information Systems and Operations Management (ISOM) Department from 1999 to 2001. He received his Ph.D. and MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Dr. Guder teaches both graduate and undergraduate-level courses in Quality Management, Managerial Statistics, Data Analysis and Operations Management at the School of Business Administration. His student evaluations have ranked consistently in the top. He was the Graduate School of Business Faculty of the Year in 1998-99.

His research interests include quality management, inventory management, and distribution problems. He has published in several journals, including Management Science, Mathematical Programming, Transportation Science, Journal of the Operational Research Society, and European Journal of the Operational Research.

Dr. Guder is a member of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS), and the American Society for Quality (ASQ). He is a two-time Examiner for the Illinois Lincoln Award for Business Excellence.
